Commercial Description:
The second release from the Macallan Edition series is a collaboration between Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno and the three brothers behind El Celler de Can Roca (named Best Restaurant in the World twice by Restaurant magazine). This single malt was drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks.
Edition No.2 is a collaboration between master blender Bob Delgarno and legendary Spanish chefs Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca. A combination of sherry puncheons, butts and refill hogsheads, this is a deliciously floral and fruity whisky with notes of tropical fruit, black pepper, liquorice and brandy snaps.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE: Mocha, brown sugar, a spark of ginger and some oak-y warmth.
TASTE: Notes of Sherried raisins and dried citrus peels develop, a hint of vegetal oak. Still a little chocolatey.
FINISH: Spiced fruit cake and lemon peels.
